Does success come from hard work? Only partially. Working hard on the wrong things simply moves you further and faster away from your goals. Nobody has ever reached the success, happiness, and balance they desire without focusing on priorities.
In this book, world-class real estate entrepreneur, surfer, and co-founder of Board Meetings International, Brian Scrone, shares the simple 5F’s priorities management system that helped him build a multiple 8-figure real estate firm through the crash of 2008, while at the same time maintaining balance and health into every area of life.
Could your life be improved with more money, more time, better relationships, and optimized health? Brian’s heartfelt and step-by-step guide to living a life of true priorities teaches
• How he made the radical shift from depressed drug-dealer to world-class entrepreneur
• How to organize your day around true priorities using a simple 5-minute exercise
• How healthy relationships saved Brian’s business during the recession of 2008
• How to eliminate stress and stay in the moment-by-moment flow of life

What Matters Most edition by Brian Scrone SelfHelp eBooks

I’ve gotten progressively more intentional about how and where I spend my time over my past 5 years as an entrepreneur, but found myself asking more often than not: “Did I make the *best* use of my time today? Is there any way I could have better-invested it? Did anything slip by the wayside that is undermining my relationships in the short-term, my opportunities in the mid-term, or my success in the long-term?”

Over the past year in particular I have spent a lot of time reflecting on, and trying to work out a more comprehensive system as to how I invest the most precious resource I have: my time. Given that time is all of our most precious resource, I’m sure you can empathize! I was so grateful to receive an advanced copy of Brian’s book at an event I attended earlier this year, and to savour it slowly like a fine wine as I traveled through Europe on business. Although it is not a thick book, its material is simultaneously heavy, and light. In it, Brian lays bare the foundation for a happy, successful, fulfilling life and the secret ingredient to making it work for you!

However, these aren’t secrets he came to know overnight. As he shares with a refreshing frankness and honesty, Brian learned as much from the ‘school of hard knocks’ and the ups and downs in the world of entrepreneurship as he has from the hundreds of thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours that he has invested in his worldly education — both in how to be a better entrepreneur, and how to be a better human. To have him whittle down the life lessons that he has gained at great cost (sometimes personal, sometimes financial) into an accessible and eminently practical, actionable book is worth its weight in gold many times over. He could easily be charging 100x the cover price and it would, in my estimation, still fall far short of a fair representation of its value (you’ll learn more about this in his chapter on one of the “5 Fs” — Finance).

Why do I think it is worth so much more than the asking price? An entirely fair question to ask. It’s because you will learn the 5 most impactful investments you can make with your time — the ones that will yield compound interest for your efforts, and serve you well for the rest of your life. And not only does Brian tell you ‘what’ those areas are, but perhaps more importantly he provides you with the secret ingredient to making those behaviours ‘stick’. One that I haven’t found anywhere else, despite the ever-growing mass of literature and other audio and video content in the field of personal development.

In closing, this book provided the foundation I was missing to no longer need to ask myself whether I’ve made the best use of my time each day — or at least progressively less and less with each passing day that I apply the wisdom found inside the cover. Thank you, Brian — you have done the world a great service in sharing yourself, your story, and your hard-earned wisdom about how to live a life without second-guessing and regret. I am eternally grateful to have been a beneficiary of it. And thank you Zander Robertson for your role as well, in helping distill Brian’s wisdom into a powerful little book that I have every confidence will benefit many for years to come.

What Matters Most edition by Brian Scrone SelfHelp eBooks Reviews

To be honest, I was an "Ok" dad/husband for my three kids/wife and sometimes a really a-hole to be honest. I was chasing money, the feeling of being "important", success, etc. Sit down, read this book and really think out 25 years after you dead and gone. What will your kids say to their grandkids about you? "My dad started businesses and made a lot of money kids". Not me.

Brian nailed it to be honest, no fluff, laid out simply to encourage you to really find what matters to you personally. Feel free to reach out to me, I've gone through a lot of personally discovery and my relationships have never been better. Thanks Brian
I loved this book. Don't let the shortness of the book (it took me about an hour and a half to read it cover to cover...well, on my ) fool you--this book is very profound in its message. The five F's are easy to remember and keep in mind Faith, Family, Friends, Finance, and Fitness. His wisdom in asking where you're spending your time, Ana how to check in with the 5 F's will give you a good reason to change your behavior for the better. I loved this, I will be reading it again, recommending it, and purchasing it for family and friends. Thank you for this, Brian.
Best book I have read on this topic. Brian provides real, functional, tangible insight into how to truly put your priorities in order daily and living the life you truly desire to live. His 5 Fs really are the core of life and I love his simple yet effective way of putting these in order and nurturing them. His raw honesty and candidness is refreshing and humbling and talks straight to the reader as an equal and friend instead of as an unattached PhD " know it all" in theory but not in person type of author that is the case with many of these types of books. It gives the reader real hope that if this man can change his life from what it was to the beautiful life he has now, anyone can!
I just knew that Brian's book would be raw, honest and compelling because it begins with "I really messed up....". Seriously, who can't relate to that??

We all experience heartache, victory, set back, celebration and disappointment - sometimes all in the same day. Brian unpacks his life experiences in What Matters Most. The result is a well thought out and actually quite simple strategy for keeping a laser focus on what's important, even (and especially) while navigating the often difficult, always unpredictable twists and turns of life. What Matters Most is a workbook within a book. There is so much encouragement packed between the pages and Brian cites abundant resources for accountability.

I read the book in an afternoon and just ordered a copy for each of my 30-something children.
It would be an excellent read for book clubs and discussion groups!

What Matters Most
John Lennon made famous the line "Life is What Happens When You're Busy Making Other Plans" and what a great parallel to the words and message written by Brian in "What Matters Most". In my opinion this book re-presents what everyone should already know about personal happiness and how to sustain it. Unfortunately, this crazy unpredictable "always on" world of ours sometimes makes it hard to follow.
Thanks to Brian and this book- he makes it easier for everyone by giving us some guidelines around what's important- Friends, Family, Faith, Fitness and Finance. But he then leaves it up to you to interpret how those principles will re-form and guide you. It's fun. It's challenging. It's fulfilling. Enjoy.
