This is a very interesting view of dreaming.It starts rather slowly imho, but after a couple of chapters, it starts to roll and becomes one you will want to finish.
Most happily, for me, is that it's a complete story. Yes, it could become book 1 in a series, but i can't imagine where it would go. But then, note that i wouldn't have thought up the story myself in the first place. (wee joke)
IMHO, a good job of story telling.

This was a really interesting book! It follows the story of a man who frequently has lucid dreams (dreams where you know you are dreaming and thus can control things in your dream) and how his life is impacted by his ability to dream lucidly so often. The book balances what his life is like in the real world and what his experiences are like when he is dreaming. The book gives a lot of detail so you can really imagine both his reality and dream situations. In the book, it describes the power of dreaming and the affect (both positive and negative) it can have in your reality. The main character is eventually able to enter other people's dreams, which comes with its own unique situations.
After reading all of the fantastic reviews and having the book on my wish list for a week or 2, I decided to buy it. I will admit at first I was trying really hard to get through it. Seemed like it was just moving so slow and at one point, I wasn't sure I was going to finish it. It picked up and ended up being a really good story. Great story line and the characters were believable for the most part. Love the concept as well.

I love super-hero and fantasy novels, it always makes me think how it feels to be one or have these special powers , yet there is always the feeling it is out of reach from us "regular humans". On the Lucid Man , my feeling were that being this "super hero" is "reachable" and "available" . It made the hole reading much more interesting and enjoyable, I could relate to the hero and really dive into the story and to Gil's creation world as if I'm really there.
The story is creative and original, written with wonderful scenes and beautiful characters , mixing psychology , thrill and curiosity. While The writing is smooth and natural I have found myself stop reading and Googling and learning on Lucid dreaming and many other psychological meanings of the dream which was a bonus to the story.
I loved the last line of the book. A perfect ending for a great book. Stayed up most of the night to finish reading it. Got it off a Bookbub deal along with a bunch of others. I don't have time to read most. But the title caught my eye. So, I started reading and was hooked from the opening scene. A great premise played out very nicely. I honestly was expecting a whole lot, and was very pleasantly surprised.
When I began the book, I thought I would lose interest pretty quickly, since I'm not big on fantasy. Wow, was I wrong. I won't give away the story line, but it is such a unique blend of worlds/disciplines/perspectives woven into a fantastic mystery that makes it hard to put down. Yet, not only is it a wonderful story, with complex and nuanced - but completely relatable - protagonists, romance, humor, and fighting the "bad guys," it raises extremely thoughtful and thought provoking questions about our individual and collective realities, questions of morality, how we justify our means and the choices we make when trying to save the people we love.The only thing I didn't like about my experience of reading this book was finishing it and no longer having it to look forward to!

Like every good thriller this story kept me engaged and wanting desperately to see how it worked out. 👀 The main character, Joseph, in Gil Gray's Ebook, "Lucid Man A Supernatural Mystery Adventure" is a man with the gift of Lucid Dreaming and learns to use this gift in ways he never thought of. I love the whole concept of Lucid Dreaming and have done some research of my own about the subject. Gray does an excellent job of outlining the characters and their minds as the story evolves. I got this book for free from book bub. It looked kind of interesting but I didn't have especially high hopes for it. I read several books before I came back to it
I was actually quite pleased with the writing and the character development. The story had interesting plot twists and developments outside the main scope of the story. These elements made the story more interesting and helped develop the characters. The author didn't drop these elements when the main story was resolved but finished out the tale in a satisfying way. Very enjoyable story. Not a genre I often read but I'd definitely read this author again.
